The KYC Form Now Checks Your Photos in Real Time - 600+ Applications Already In
August 24, 2026
The waitlist opened on Friday. As of today, more than 600 verification applications are in - over 10% of all available places, taken in the first three days.
And with the first hundreds of applications came the first hundreds of photo mistakes. Blurry documents, cropped corners, selfies without the document, documents without the person. Every one of those means a rejection and a resubmission - lost time on both sides.
So the form got an upgrade.
The form now coaches your photos - live
The verification form has a built-in photo assistant. You point the camera, and it tells you one thing to fix at a time: "move closer", "glare - tilt the phone", "hold it straight". The capture button activates only when every check is green. Then a 3-2-1 countdown, and the shot takes itself.
Under the hood there are three layers of computer vision. The first checks sharpness, lighting, shadows across the document and lamp glare. The second finds the document in the frame and its four corners - so the system knows if it is too far, tilted, shot at an angle or cropped. The third, on the selfie screen only, confirms that both your face and the document are in frame and not covering each other.
All of it runs on your device. Frames from the live check are not sent anywhere - the only thing that leaves your phone is the final photos you confirm for your application.
And if the assistant cannot get to green after several attempts - an old camera, difficult light - manual capture unlocks. Nobody gets locked out by their hardware.
How to pass on the first try
The assistant catches most problems before you shoot. The rest is on you. Here is the field guide, built from the actual mistakes of the first three days.
Document photos
Front and back are two separate uploads: the first slot takes the front side, the second slot takes the back. Not both in one, not twice the same side.
Photograph the physical document. Scans, photocopies, screenshots and photos of a screen are not accepted - only a live photo of the document itself.
Close and sharp: the document fills most of the frame, all four corners visible, nothing cut off.
Even light. No lamp glare across the data, no shadow bands over the document.
One document for the entire application. Every upload - front, back, selfie - must show the same ID.
The document must be valid. Expired documents do not pass.
No filters, no editing, no beauty mode. The photo must show the document and you as the camera sees them.
The selfie
The selfie is you and the document in one frame. A selfie without the document does not pass. A document without you does not pass either.
Hold the document by the edges. Fingers over the data are one of the most common reasons for rejection.
The data side faces the camera, next to your face - not covering it.
Face fully visible: no sunglasses, no cap pulled low.
Dressed, please. Verification is not beach photography - bare-torso selfies are rejected.
The form
First and last name exactly as printed in the document, Latin characters.
Files: JPG, PNG or PDF, up to 2 MB each.
If you already submitted and your status comes back as "changes needed" - simply resubmit the photos. The assistant now walks you through the retake.
One reminder, because it keeps coming up
Approval timing does not affect your place. A submitted application is what secures your referral code and your position in the queue - cards launch on September 29 either way. Verification done in advance just means you buy on day one instead of standing in a verification line with everyone else.
